Tottenham Hotspur have revealed that Arnaut Danjuma will wear the number 16 shirt during his initial six months with the club.
The forward joined Spurs on a loan deal from Villarreal this week, which will run until the end of the 2022/23 season. However, the Lilywhites do have the option to make a deal permanent for a fee of £26.4m in the summer, if they decided to trigger it (Fabrizio Romano).
This all comes after Tottenham hijacked Everton’s bid to sign the Netherlands international, with Danjuma even completing his Toffees medical and media duties before changing his mind (The Athletic).
Spurs then moved fast to secure the Villarreal man, announcing yesterday that the 25-year-old had joined on loan for the rest of the campaign.
And now Tottenham fans know what shirt to look out for when Danjuma makes his debut, with the club revealing he will wear the number 16 during his time in N17.
Spurs Web Opinion:
I can’t imagine too many fans will be paying for a shirt with a loanee’s name and number on the back, but fingers crossed Danjuma hits the ground running Kulusevski style and Spurs trigger the option to buy him in the summer. Then we can all get the shirts!
