Tottenham Hotspur have released a club statement confirming the rumours about Thomas Frank’s departure are true.
Thomas Frank has been struggling to make things work at Tottenham Hotspur, despite a summer which saw the club sign players such as Mohammed Kudus and Xavi Simons.
The Dane’s popularity rating has been in a constant state of decline, and it dropped even further following consecutive defeats to Manchester United and Newcastle. Indeed, these results have left Spurs in a relegation battle, which would have been unthinkable earlier in the season.

The Spurs boss remained convinced he would still be manager for the Arsenal game, but a report later claimed Tottenham have sacked Frank after only eight months in charge.
Tottenham Hotspur have now confirmed those reports…

Tottenham make official Thomas Frank announcement
Spurs have now officially confirmed that Frank has been removed from his position as the club’s head coach, confirming the accuracy of previous reports.
Frank signed a three-year contract at Tottenham, but he has not even been able to complete a full season as his team sits 16th in the Premier League table.

Tottenham wrote in their official announcement: ‘The Club has taken the decision to make a change in the Men’s Head Coach position and Thomas Frank will leave today.
‘Thomas was appointed in June 2025, and we have been determined to give him the time and support needed to build for the future together.
‘However, results and performances have led the Board to conclude that a change at this point in the season is necessary.
‘Throughout his time at the Club, Thomas has conducted himself with unwavering commitment, giving everything in his efforts to move the Club forward. We would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him every success in the future.’
Although the 52-year-old can have no complaints regarding the decision, he will be disappointed not to see out Tottenham’s Champions League campaign. After all, Frank led Spurs to a fourth-place finish in the league phase, enabling automatic qualification to the last 16 stage.
Spurs will likely need an interim for the North London derby
Tottenham have had to act quickly to appoint a caretaker manager who does not have long to prepare for a huge game on Sunday.

Spurs will take on their bitter rivals Arsenal in the Premier League, and it is one of the club’s most important fixtures of the season.
Not only do Tottenham need at least a point to increase their chances of safety, but taking points off Arsenal would go a long way in preventing them from winning the league.
Therefore, the new temporary boss has his work cut out for him, and he will need the Tottenham first-team squad to fight harder than ever to get a result.
