Tottenham right-back knocked out of Copa America in heartbreaking defeat

Tottenham Hotspur have a strong Argentinian contingent in North London at the moment, with Juan Foyth, Erik Lamela, Paulo Gazzaniga and Pochettino himself all flying the flag.

Spurs even had a bid turned down for another Argentine star this summer in the form of Real Betis playmaker, Giovani Lo Celso (BBC).

Lo Celso is currently in the Argentina squad at the Copa America this summer, along with Juan Foyth, with Lamela and Gazzaniga left at home.

The team enjoyed a largely successful campaign, but came unstuck against the hosts and their arch-rivals Brazil last night in the semi-finals.

It was yet another nearly moment for the Argentines in a major international tournament, as Man City and Liverpool strikers Gabriel Jesus and Roberto Firmino got on the scoresheet in a 2-0 win.

Juan Foyth started the match at right-back, a position he has played for the last two games on an international level.

While the 21-year-old will be gutted with the defeat, could he have found his new position?
