Tottenham right back wanted by Spanish giants

Tottenham Hotspur have had a problem at right back this season, with both Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier proving to be extremely inconsistent and a liability at times in defence.

However, it seems as if clubs have taken notice of Trippier’s bad season and are attempting to pounce on Tottenham’s apparent willingness to sell up.

Napoli and Manchester United have already been credited with interest in signing the England World Cup hero (talkSPORT), but Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are apparently also joining the race (Daily Mail).

The 28-year-old still has five years left on his contract at Spurs, and the transfer fee of £40m has been thrown about by some reports (Metro).

It would be a shame to see Trippier leave the club without another chance to earn back the praise he received with England in the summer.

However, if Tottenham bring in a new right back, such as Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Trippier may want to move on for first team football.
