Tottenham rival Arsenal for signature of star player

According to the Sun, Tottenham and Arsenal are set to battle over MLS star Miguel Almiron.

The Paraguayan has scored an impressive 12 goals and set up 13 goals already this season for Atlanta United.

Arsenal were said to be leading the race for the signature of the midfielder, but Paraguayan radio station A Lo Grande claim Spurs have leapt ahead.

One reporter for the station even went as far to say that Spurs will be Almiron’s next destination.

The 24-year-old was signed for £6m in 2016, but is thought to now be worth something in the region of £22m.

This type of goalscoring midfielder could take the pressure off the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen, or even push them for their starting places.

Tottenham failed to sign a single player in the summer, so could be prepared to splash the cash come January.

Would Almiron mark a good bit of business?
