Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in a player they had an offer rejected for in the summer, but his club have had a change of heart following a recent development.
According to reports, Spurs are prioritising adding a marquee name to their attack in January, with the Lilywhites said to be keen on showcasing their ambition.
Back in September, it was reported that Tottenham may reignite their interest in a Serie A star after exploring a move for him in the summer.
That update came from TuttoJuve, who suggested that Spurs are considering making a £51m offer for Atalanta star Ademola Lookman in January.

Tottenham expected to return for wantaway star Ademola Lookman
A new report in TEAMtalk has revealed that late in the summer transfer window, the Lilywhites made a loan offer with an option to buy the 28-year-old, which was turned down by Atalanta.
The report says that Thomas Frank’s men have continued to monitor Lookman since the start of the season with a view to making another move for the former Everton man.
It is explained that the player had a fallout with his former manager Ivan Juric, and was considering pushing for a move away in January.
With Lookman’s contract running out in 2027, Atalanta were ready to consider offers for him in the upcoming transfer window if he did not sign an extension.
However, even though Tottenham are continuing to keep tabs on his situation, a new development at Bergamo has opened the possibility of the forward staying put.
Atalanta hoping to keep Lookman after managerial change
TEAMtalk say that the appointment of Raffaele Palladino as the new Atalanta boss has changed the Serie A club’s stance on the Tottenham Hotspur target.
Palladino is said to be keen on integrating Lookman into the squad, with the attacker being seen as a key part of his plans for the rest of the season.
The report says that the Nigerian international now faces ‘a more complicated decision’ on whether to push for a move in January or commit his future to the Serie A club.
Atalanta have a ‘new plan’ to keep Lookman at the club, and the player, who appeared to be edging closer to the exit door, is now expected to ‘reassess his situation over the coming weeks’.
