Tottenham’s scouts were spoiled in attendance at a big cup semi-final in Portugal on Thursday as two of the North London club’s targets were in action.

The summer transfer window is fast approaching, and reports indicate that Spurs are making plans for a major rebuild of their squad ahead of Roberto De Zerbi’s first full season in charge.

Some sources have said that Tottenham are making two distinct plans for the summer window, depending on whether they stay in the Premier League or go down.

It appears that the club’s scouts are being dispatched to various countries ahead of the summer to run the rule over their top targets.

Tottenham watched Maxi Araujo in action in Taca de Portugal semi-final

A Bola (as relayed by Sport Witness) have now revealed that Tottenham’s representatives were spotted in the stands at Estadio do Dragao for the second leg of the Taca de Portugal semi-final.

Porto and Sporting Lisbon played out a 0-0 draw, which meant that Sporting progressed to the final on the back of their 1-0 win in the first leg.

This update comes amid intense speculation linking Sporting left-back Maxi Araujo with a move to Spurs in the summer.

Argujo has expressed a desire to move to England, and it has been suggested over recent weeks that Tottenham have to pay more than €40m (£34.5m) to land the Uruguayan.

Spurs could battle Premier League giants for Sporting Lisbon midfielder

Araujo is not the only Sporting player on the Lilywhites’ radar, with Morten Hjulmand also a long-term target for Tottenham.

Reports from Portugal suggested last month that Tottenham can land the midfielder for around €50m (£43.2m) this summer as the Dane seeks a new challenge.

However, according to a recent update from CaughtOffside, Spurs may face competition from Man United and Liverpool for Hjulmand this summer.
