Tottenham Hotspur could be about to ramp up their interest in a 23-year-old attacker as they continue to keep a close eye on his performances.
Spurs are reportedly keeping tabs on several wide players around Europe as they look to add more firepower to their attack this month.
One of the players they are keen on is a young Ligue 1 star who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, and who tore their defences to shreds in a Champions League encounter this season.
Spurs are thought to be exploring a move for Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche, and it appears that he remains at the forefront of the Lilywhites’ thinking.

Tottenham watched Maghnes Akliouche in action on Saturday
TEAMtalk reveal that Spurs identified Akliouche as a player with a ‘very high ceiling’ back in the summer, but their advances were knocked back by Monaco.
The North London club have continued to track the France international since then, and scouts from the Premier League side travelled to watch him in action against Lyon on Saturday.
Akliouche was unable to make a telling mark on the encounter, with Lyon emerging 3-1 winners, but the player continues to be thought of highly at Spurs.
The Frenchman has scored three goals and provided five assists in 23 outings for Monaco this term.
Is Akliouche a realistic target for Spurs this month?
TEAMtalk assert that the young attacker could be more inclined to leave this month than he was in the summer, given Monaco’s struggles of late.
It is asserted that it would take an offer in excess of £50m to prise him away from the Ligue 1 side.
However, the outlet adds that Tottenham are also looking at various other wingers simultaneously, including RB Leipzig’s Yan Diomande.
