One man is clearly at the top of Tottenham’s list of candidates to replace Thomas Frank, whose days at the North London club appear numbered.
It has been widely reported that the Spurs board are now seriously considering parting ways with Frank, with the 52-year-old’s dismissal looking like a case of when, not if.
We have already heard that Tottenham are fans of the likes of Andoni Iraola and Oliver Glasner, who are contracted to Bournemouth and Crystal Palace, respectively, until the summer.
It has also been claimed that Mauricio Pochettino is keen on returning to Spurs after this summer’s World Cup, but none of these managers are the favourites to take over right now.

John Heitinga is most likely to replace Thomas Frank at Tottenham for now
According to a report on the Dutch site AD, Tottenham Hotspur are likely to settle for an interim appointment if they part ways with Frank.
The outlet claims that John Heitinga is ‘at the top of the list of candidates’ to be Frank’s temporary successor. The Dutchman only arrived at Tottenham last week, replacing Matt Wells as the club’s new assistant first-team coach.
The former Everton centre-back has experience of holding the top job at Ajax, and he may soon find himself catapulted to the interim head coach role at N17.
Two Spanish legends are also on Spurs’ radar
It has been reported by The Independent that Tottenham have had discussions internally regarding a move for Xabi Alonso after he was sacked by Real Madrid last week.
However, the outlet explained that the Spaniard is in no rush to return to management and wants to assess the offers on his table in the summer.
Meanwhile, Fichajes have claimed that Spurs have already reached out to Xavi Hernandez, who is now considering his next step carefully.
