Tottenham slammed for embarassing pre-match decision against Southampton

Former Spurs defender Ramon Vega has taken aim at the current Tottenham squad, this time, not for their performances on the pitch but for their fashion sense.

Many Tottenham fans would agree that Tottenham Hotspur’s displays this season have left much to be desired.

Good performances have been few and far between, with that stunning 4-0 win against the reigning champions Manchester City at the Etihad one of the rare moments Spurs actually turned up.

Of course, there have been other standout displays by the Lilywhites—most notably their 1-0 Carabao Cup semi-final first leg win over Liverpool, and the recent 3-1 victory against Alkmaar in the second leg of their Europa League round of 16 tie.

Regardless, their struggles in the league have been laid bare, with Tottenham losing 16 matches after just 31 games, leaving them languishing in 14th place.

Ramon Vega slams Tottenham Hotspur squad for fashion parade

Prior to their clash with Southampton, the Tottenham Hotspur social media team put out a video of the first-team squad all dressed up ahead of the game.

Former Spurs defender Ramon Vega didn’t hold back, posting on X: “Is this a fashion show or a football club? Guys, we are 16th on the table. Take your finger out.”

Of course, Spurs aren’t 16th—they’re 14th—but they’re not exactly miles off from the bottom four, with just five points separating them from 17th-placed Wolves.

Spurs priorities questioned as off-pitch focus frustrates

While one can understand Vega’s frustrations with Spurs squad’s pre-match styling, it’s hardly the players’ fault.

Tottenham Hotspur aren’t just a football club anymore—they’re a brand, a business, and clearly one with other priorities that go beyond what happens over 90 minutes.

The performances may be underwhelming on the pitch, but at least they’ve got one thing to shout about—Spurs are the most followed Premier League club on TikTok, which, let’s face it, is more than a few others can say.
