Tottenham star admits he misses the food and the weather back home

Pedro Porro has admitted that he is still adapting to life off the field in England, confessing that he misses the food and the weather back home in Spain.

Porro did not have the smoothest of starts to his Tottenham career after his switch from Sporting Lisbon in January of last year.

The Spaniards’ defending left a lot to be desired in his first few months at the club and many wondered if the 24-year-old simply lacked the defensive nous and the athleticism to cope with the pacy attackers in the division.

However, the Tottenham man has well and truly proved his critics wrong, having been solid defensively all campaign while also maintaining his excellent attacking output.

While Porro might have adapted successfully to the demands of Premier League football and Ange Postecoglou’s system, he admitted that his biggest challenges have been off the pitch, confessing that he misses the sunshine back home.

Pedro Porro is not a fan of the London weather

When asked what he misses the most in London, the Spain international told Telemundo: “I would say the food, to be honest. Yes, in the first few months, I didn’t know how to move around here, but now I have found my Spanish things.

“The food and the sun, many people tell me in England. I have really missed the sun in Spain. Well, today I went out training so I could see it. Today I missed it.”

The fairly big Spanish clique at Spurs would have certainly played a role in helping Porro settle into life at Tottenham, with the right-back now appearing to feel at home at the club.
