Tottenham star claims the team can do better

Tottenham Hotspur have carved out some amazing results in recent weeks, and all without two of their biggest goal scorers Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

When Kane picked up yet another ankle injury against Man United, many thought Spurs would struggle to score goals until his expected return of early March.

This was only enhanced by the injury to Dele Alli just one game later, especially with Son away on international duty with South Korea.

However, since Kane’s injury, Spurs have actually won every single Premier League game put in front of them, as well as smashing the German League leaders Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the Champions League.

Tottenham left it late against the likes of Fulham, Watford, and Newcastle, but at the end of the day, they picked up all three points on each occasion.

Spurs will be hoping for performances more like the second half against Dortmund as they move forward though, and Trippier knows the side can do better.

He said (SkySports’ Soccer AM as reported by Express): “The past few weeks have been very good.

“We could have played a lot better, we all know that, but the results are the most important thing.

“We’ve had a few injuries recently and the people that have stepped in have done really well.

“If you look at Son, he’s played in three major tournaments this season and he still looks fresh.

“He’s come back and scored goals and topped it off with the result the other night which was amazing.”
