Tottenham star insists he never thought about leaving the club

Tottenham Hotspur have been without their lead striker Harry Kane for nearly a month now, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at their results.

Four straight wins in the Premier League, followed up by a 3-0 home leg win over the German League leaders Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.

Many though Spurs would miss Kane’s goals during his month out injured, especially without securing any new signings at all this season.

However, Heung Min Son has stepped up to the plate, as many fans were hoping he would, with a goal in every game since his return from the Asia Cup.

And Sonny isn’t the only striker on fire, despite his doubters Fernando Llorente has proved invaluable over the past few weeks, scoring six goals and setting up three in his last nine games.

The Spanish front man was also able to add the cherry on top of Spurs European performance on Wednesday as he nodded home the third goal against Dortmund from a corner.

Despite January rumours, Llorente insists he never though bout leaving Spurs (Independent): “I don’t know anything. The truth is I’m very satisfied here in Spurs, I haven’t thought about leaving.

“I’m at a great club, I still have a contract, and my intention is to win trophies here. Right now, I’m enjoying a good moment, and I hope I can keep scoring goals and everything keeps going well.

“To be honest, I was dreaming of that goal. This season and last season, I was on the bench a lot of the time, and always I tried to score.

“It had been a while since I’d come off the bench to score, so it was satisfying, and all the more so that it was Champions League.

“The important thing is to help whenever I’m called upon, and keep working hard.”
