Tottenham star is on a ‘list’ of targets for Saudi Arabian clubs in 2024 – Journalist reports

Tottenham Hotspur captain Heung-min Son is among a list of big-name targets wanted by Saudi Arabian clubs for next summer.

Heung-min Son heads into his ninth season with Spurs this year and now does so as the captain of the squad. With Hugo Lloris deciding to seek a transfer away from North London and Harry Kane moving to Bayern Munich this summer, Ange Postecoglou picked the South Korean star to take over wear the captain’s armband.

Son joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 and has now registered 145 goals and 80 assists in 374 appearances for the Lilywhites (Transfermarkt).

The 31-year-old is now looking to put the disappointment of last season behind him. Son only managed ten goals and six assists in the league last term in a sub-standard campaign by his own standards. (Transfermarkt).

While much of the attention this summer was placed on Kane’s future, there was brief speculation linking Son with a move to Saudi Arabia side Al-Ittihad (ESPN).

However, the Spurs star has repeatedly denied any interest in leaving the club and has spoken about his intention to keep improving in the Premier League (Football.London and Hayters TV).

Will Heung-min Son join the Saudi league?

All summer, teams from Saudi Arabia have been plucking big-name players from the Premier League, with the likes of Jordan Henderson, N’golo Kante, and Riyad Mahrez all opting to join the burgeoning movement in the Middle East.

Now, journalist Ben Jacobs has suggested that next summer could see even more stars heading that way, with Son thought to be on the Saudi wishlist.

Jacobs said: “Saudi dealmakers will try for a number of names next summer. Like anyone else in football recruitment, they are planning multiple windows ahead. A provisional list is already drawn up. It also includes Son and Robert Lewandowski.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Sonny has already made it very clear how he feels about the notion of joining the Saudi League. He isn’t interested in the money and values playing in the Premier League too highly. I can’t see him going anywhere next year.
