Tottenham star joins Dele Alli on list on injury returnees

Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has announced his return to Tottenham training on Twitter yesterday, and appears to be all smiles.

The Argentinian centre back has been out with a thigh injury for some time, and hasn’t yet featured for Spurs this season.

It is likely that he will feature in Tottenham’s upcoming Carabao Cup tie with Watford at Stadium MK.

Foyth is Spurs’ only non starting centre back at the club, with Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez, Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier all regular first team starters.

It’s key for Spurs to have Foyth back on the bench to give them more options.

A lack of a back up is probably why Poch has been going for a four at the back formation, rather than three at the back in recent weeks.

Foyth joined Spurs in the summer of 2017 for just £8m, and looks an extremely promising prospect with his skill on the ball.

Tottenham fans will hope to see a lot more of him this season.
