Cristian Romero has labelled his Argentina and Tottenham teammate Giovani Lo Celso as the best midfielder in South America.
Romero and Lo Celso sat down for a segment with Spurs TV to put their friendship to the test. The pair were asked to name who they thought was better at various things, including playing FIFA, telling jokes and fashion.
It was evident from the video that Romero and Lo Celso have developed quite a bromance in their short time together at Spurs and with the national team.
Both players complimented each other quite a lot but perhaps the most striking answer was Romero’s description of Lo Celso’s technique.
When they were asked who has the better technique, the centre-back answered: “Lo Celso. He made us Copa America. He’s the best midfielder in South America.”

While there is certainly an element of Romero being complimentary of his friend in that answer, it also shows that Lo Celso is thought of very highly in Argentina, which is not surprising considering how well the midfielder has done for his country recently.
Hopefully, he can hit the same standards at club level sooner rather than later as the former Real Betis man’s talent is not in doubt.
