Tottenham star nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month award

Tottenham scored five Premier League goals in August, one of which has been nominated for the Goal of the Month award, and it is not hard to guess which one.

Tottenham had an excellent start to the Thomas Frank era, winning their first two Premier League matches against Burnley and Manchester City, and doing so with back-to-back cleansheets, something that they never achieved under Ange Postecoglou.

However, some of the optimism of Spurs fans was dented during their 1-0 loss against Bournemouth, with the performance exposing some of the Lilywhites’ shortcomings.

The Tottenham faithful will be hoping that was a blip rather than a sign of things to come, and that the arrivals of Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani will help solve some of the club’s issues.

Richarlison nominated for Premier League Goal of the Month award

Richarlison won the Player of the Week award for gameweek one after his outstanding brace in the 3-0 win over Burnley.

Both of the Brazilian’s finishes were outstanding, and the second one in particular was something that will likely be replayed for a long time.

The 28-year-old met Mohammed Kudus’ cross with a scissor kick that thundered into the back of the net, and unsurprisingly, it has been nominated for the Goal of the Month award.

Richarlison now has more competition to contend with

We have heard from inside the Tottenham camp that Richarlison is hungry to prove a point this season after his injury struggles prevented him from showcasing his best in a Spurs shirt over the last three years.

Some pundits have backed Richarlison to thrive under Thomas Frank, opining that the Dane’s system suits the former Everton man down to a tee.

However, the Brazil international now does not just have to contend with competition from Dominic Solanke, but also Kolo Muani after the Lilywhites secured the Frenchman in a deadline-day deal.
