Tottenham star picks up Champions League award

Tottenham Hotspur have announced that Lucas Moura has been awarded the Champions League player of the week, to the surprise of zero football fans.

Spurs faced almost certain elimination from the competition at half-time on Wednesday night, as they trailed Ajax 2-0 on the night and 3-0 on aggregate.

The Lilywhites needed a miracle to even find a slither of hope in the match, and that miracle came from the boots of Lucas Moura.

After getting Spurs off to the best start in the second half with a nicely finished goal on 55 minutes, it only took Moura four more to find the net again with some nice footwork.

Despite this comeback, it looked as if Spurs would come up just a little short on the night, until Moura raced through yet again in the 96th-minute, sending Tottenham into dreamland.

While Liverpool’s Wijnaldum would have pushed him close, Lucas was the only real choice for the player of the week award.
