It was a generally negative evening for England last night, as they fell to their third successive defeat, the first time they have done so in 30 years.
The three lions actually led early on through Marcus Rashford, but Spain came from behind to steal the tie 2-1, despite a controversial disallowed Danny Welbeck goal at the death.
However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom for England captain Harry Kane, as he collected his World Cup Golden Boot for the first time.
Kane finished as top goal scorer in the tournament in Russia this summer, two head of his nearest rivals.
His six goals made him the first English winner since Gary Lineker.
Gareth Southgate presented his captain with the award before kick off, after Kane led his team to a semi final in Russia.
Harry took to twitter after the match to express both his joy and his dismay.
Not the result we wanted but performance and effort deserved more. Great to see so many at Wembley – support was superb. ??? #ThreeLions #England pic.twitter.com/OftVyNU8qA
