Tottenham star reveals he wants to win the Balon d’Or in his career

Tottenham Hotspur were the second best team in Europe last season after they reached the Champions League Final for the first time in the club’s history.

A number of playersstood out along the way, from Lucas Moura and his goal scoring exploits to Alderweireld’s brick-wall defending, and Fernando Llorente’s clutch moments.

However, one man stood out as Tottenham’s best player for me, throughout the competition, and that man was Heung Min Son.

In the absence of Harry Kane and Dele Alli, Son stepped up and grabbed the knockout stages by the scruff of the neck, scoring against Borussia Dortmund in the round of 16 before bagging three against Man City in the quarters.

The Balon d’Or trophy has traditionally gone to Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo in recent times, with Luka Modric getting in on the act last year.

However, Sonny has now revealed that it is his dream to get his name on the trophy one day.

He said (Daily Star): “Everyone has the same dream. Who doesn’t think about it? That’s why I started playing football! You should dream big.

“You can’t achieve anything alone. You need your team-mates. Of course, to do that, I need to improve. To smile, to win games. I think this is the most important.”
