Tottenham star reveals on social media that he is back from injury

Serge Aurier has taken to Instagram to reveal that he is back in training after missing Tottenham’s last four matches with a foot injury.

Aurier, who has been Jose Mourinho’s first-choice right-back for the majority of the campaign so far, missed Tottenham’s Premier League clashes against Manchester City and West Ham, the first leg of the Europa League round of 32 clash against Wolfsberger and the FA Cup defeat to Everton.

In Aurier’s absence, Jose Mourinho rotated between Doherty and Tanganga, with the former Wolves man starting against Everton and Wolflsberger and the Spurs academy graduate starting the last two league matches.

Doherty did replace Tanganga at half-time in Tottenham’s defeat to West Ham on Sunday as the Lilywhites looked to get back into the game in the second half.

It now looks as though Mourinho will soon be boosted by the return of Aurier, with the Ivorian taking to social media to post a picture with Davinson Sanchez along with the caption, “I’m back bro.”

Spurs Web Opinion

Having Aurier and Reguilon both back in a space of a few days is a big boost for Mourinho. While I thought Doherty’s recent displays have been much-improved, the Republic of Ireland international has not done quite enough to displace Aurier as first-choice.

I expect the former PSG man to come back into the starting line up against Burnley next Sunday, with Doherty likely to start the second leg against Wolfsberger.
