Tottenham star says his injury is now ‘100 times better than it was’

Richarlison has confirmed that his knee now feels much better and that he is training with his international teammates ahead of Brazil’s international friendly against England on Sunday.

Richarlison picked up a knee injury in Tottenham’s loss to Wolves last month and subsequently missed the club’s wins over Crystal Palace and Aston Villa.

Even before Tottenham’s trip to Villa Park, the 26-year-old was named in the Brazil squad for the international break and his national team boss Dorival Junior indicated at the time that he could be fit to feature for the Selecao (Globo Esporte).

That prediction has come true, with the striker making his comeback during Tottenham’s 3-0 defeat at Craven Cottage last Saturday, replacing Brennan Johnson on 80 minutes.

Richarlison is feeling much better after his injury

Richarlison has now sent a big hint that he could be available to play from the start for Brazil at Wembley on Sunday, revealing that he now feels much better than he did a week or two ago.

The forward told CGTN Sports Scene: “Today I can say that my injury is 100 times better than it was. Before I went to the field already thinking about going home to solve the problem, today I can go to train calmly, I can go to play calmly.”

Ange Postecolgou will be hoping that Richarlison will come through this international break unscathed, with Spurs needing to get points on the board in their quest to get back into the Champions League. Hopefully, the 26-year-old is rested for at least one of Brazil’s two friendlies.
