Tottenham star scores a brace on international duty – Including a penalty

Heung-min Son just cannot stop scoring at the moment, as the Tottenham Hotspur captain bagged two goals for South Korea in his latest international outing.

Things are going pretty well for Heung-min Son of late. Coming off the back of a disappointing 2022/23 campaign, and then losing his attacking partner, Harry Kane in the summer, it could have been a very different story for the 31-year-old this season.

However, after being named as the new club captain by Ange Postecoglou, it seems Son has thrived on the newfound responsibility he has been given. The South Korean star has led the line impeccably for Spurs this term, and has eight goals so far in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).

Evidently, Son is more valuable to his club than ever right now. Naturally, then, there was a degree of concern when, in his last international fixture, Son went down injured and left the field of play.

However, he came back on and finished the game, and has since insisted he is not carrying an injury (Sungmo Lee via Football.London).

Sonny among the goals again for South Korea

Son bagged a goal in that 5-0 win against Singapore last week, and he’s been at it again in the latest match for South Korea.

Tottenham Hotspur sent a special congratulations to Son on Twitter, after the skipper bagged another two goals in a 3-0 win against China today.

His brace included a penalty, with Tottenham fans still waiting to see who will fill Harry Kane’s boots from the spot this season.

The Spurs account wrote: “Sonny at the double. Our captain netted twice for South Korea in a 3-0 win against China.”

Hopefully, this is a good sign that Sonny is not at all injured and is ready to come back to Spurs and fire us to victory at the weekend. He’s smashing it for club and country right now, and we know how much of a confidence player he is, so this should bode well.
