Mohammed Kudus’ second-half strike against Comoros on Sunday meant that Ghana became the first sub-Saharan African side to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
The winger has made an exceptional impact since his summer switch, with Kudus even being named in WhoScored’s Premier League Team of the Season so far.
In fact, the 25-year-old has been so consistent that Tottenham have been accused of being overreliant on Kudus in attack this season.
The former West Ham man carried on his impressive form into international football, proving to be the hero for the Black Stars on Sunday.

Tottenham star Mohammed Kudus takes Ghana to the World Cup
Ghana have become the fifth African nation to qualify for the World Cup in the United States and the first side outside North Africa to achieve the feat, following Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
Kudus scored the only goal of the game against Comoros, with the Spurs man tapping home Thomas Partey’s cross from close range for his second goal of the campaign.
That meant that Ghana moved to 25 points from their 10 Group I games, and with the team in second place, Madagascar, losing 4-1 to Mali, the Black Stars have officially booked their place in next summer’s tournament.
Premier League sides will be kicking themselves for missing out on Kudus
The £55m that Tottenham paid for Kudus now appears a huge bargain, and there is no doubt that several Premier League teams would be kicking themselves at not competing for the winger’s signature.
In fact, only a few days ago, Jermaine Pennant admitted that he wanted Liverpool to sign Kudus and he rued the fact that the Reds allowed him to go to Spurs.
Some pundits have backed Kudus to explode over the coming months after scoring his first goal for the Lilywhites against Leeds, and Tottenham fans will certainly be hoping that is the case.
