Tottenham Hotspur were able to get the majority of their squad back from injury in time for the Champions League final, however, one Spurs man is now looking at surgery.
Ben Davies must undergo a hernia operation (BBC), which was thought to keep him out of Wales’ upcoming Euro 2020 qualifiers against Croatia and Hungary.
However, Davies has revealed that an unforeseen delay to his surgery has allowed him to meet up with the Wales squad after all.
Despite this, the BBC report that Davies will only be able to feature in the first match against Croatia, and not three days later against Hungary.
He has reportedly played through the pain barrier in the 2018/19 season, and will face a rehabilitation period of around six weeks following the surgery.
Spurs will be hoping to have him back in time to play some part in pre-season, as they look to improve upon this year by winning a trophy.
Unfortunately my surgery was delayed for circumstances out of my control. Luckily this gave me the opportunity to meet up with Wales! pic.twitter.com/oD1kUL0vQN
