James Maddison has been voted the Premier League Player of the Month for August.

Maddison could not have hoped for a better start to his Tottenham career, with the midfielder settling in seamlessly into life at the North London club following his move from the King Power Stadium in the summer.

Playing as the most advanced midfielder in Ange Postecoglou’s 4-3-3 system has suited the England international perfectly, with the 26-year-old also being part of the club’s new-look leadership group, having been handed the vice-captaincy.

Maddison not only registered four goal contributions in the first four Premier League matches of the season but he has also been at the heart of most of the good moves that Spurs have put together.

The former Leicester City man has widely been described as many as the signing of the summer transfer window so far, given that Tottenham signed up for just £40m (The Athletic).

James Maddison is the PL Player of the Month

Maddison has now deservedly been named the best player across the division during the month of August.

Spurs Web Opinion

This is certainly well-deserved for Maddison. The exciting part for Spurs fans is that the best is still yet to come from the 26-year-old, who seems to be improving with each game as he develops a better understanding with his teammates.
