Tottenham starlet Alfie Devine wins impressive award on loan at Port Vale

Alfie Devine continues to impress on loan at Port Vale, and now the Tottenham Hotspur youngster has been named the Player of the Round in the Carabao Cup for round four.

As one of the brightest young talents at Tottenham, Alfie Devine is set for huge things in his future at the club.

The club’s youngest-ever goalscorer already has plenty of hype surrounding him, despite only having made two appearances for the first team (Transfermarkt).

The decision was made this summer to send Devine on loan for the season rather than keep him in Ange Postecoglous squad.

Given the way Devine has performed on loan at League One side Port Vale, it seems that decision was definitely the right one. The 19-year-old has three goals and two assists from 16 appearances in all competitions so far this term (Transfermarkt).

One of those goals was the match-winning effort in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup, as Port Vale overcame Mansfield Town 1-0 to make it through to the quarter-finals of the competition.

Thanks to his goal and the accompanying performance, Devine has now been named the Carabao Cup fourth-round Player of the Round.

The official Twitter account for the competition shared the news, and wrote: “Congratulations to Port Vale’s Alfie Devine, who has been voted Player of the Round for Round Four!”

Port Vale will host Championship side Middlesbrough in the next round on December 19, and will be looking to book an historic place in the semi-finals.

It’s been a fantastic season for young Alfie Devine so far, and this taste of life in League One will do him a world of good. If he can just nail down a more regular starting spot for Port Vale we could see some really interesting development in Devine’s game this year.
