One of the most highly-rated young players in the Tottenham academy has just signed his first professional contract at the North London club.
Tottenham Hotspur boast of some extremely talented teenagers in their academy set-up, and that includes Jun’ai Byfield, who is making a name for himself at the youth level.
The 17-year-old centre-back was one of the star performers for the U18s last season, and he has not looked out of place since being promoted to the U21s this term.
Byfield has played nine matches across Premier League 2 and the UEFA Youth League this season, and has held his own. The defender has now been rewarded by the club for his performances this term.

Tottenham hand Jun’ai Byfield a new deal just days after his 17th birthday
Players are only eligible to sign a professional contract once they turn 17, which Byfield did only last week.
Tottenham have wasted no time in tying the centre-back down to a new deal, which shows just how highly he is rated at Hotspur Way.
Byfield is not far away from his senior Spurs debut as he has already been named in the matchday squad on six occasions this season, including in the UEFA Super Cup clash against PSG.
Lots of exciting talent coming through the ranks at Spurs
This news comes just days after another 17-year-old, Luca Williams-Barnett, scored five for Tottenham in the UEFA Youth League against Slavia Prague.
Williams-Barnett signed his first professional contract at Spurs back in October, and there is a lot of excitement about the attacking midfielder at Hotspur Way.
There is also Mikey Moore, who is continuing to impress on loan at Rangers on the back of his breakthrough season at Tottenham last term.
Byfield recently revealed his six-year dream to captain Tottenham Hotspur. It looks like a new generation of academy players could all become first-team fixtures at Spurs over the next couple of years.
