Tottenham starlet Will Lankshear made a strong start at Oxford United, but he struggled to make an impact in recent weeks.
Will Lankshear did not receive many chances during his short-term loan move to West Brom last season. However, the 20-year-old has appeared in every Championship fixture Oxford United have played this season.
Lankshear scored three goals in his first five Oxford appearances, and it was in his sixth game that Oxford finally secured their opening victory of the season against Bristol City.
The striker made his most recent appearance last weekend, and he played 57 minutes as his team were defeated 2-1 by Watford.

Lankshear’s electric start has transitioned to four consecutive matches where he has failed to get his name on the scoresheet. Oxford themselves have only scored one goal in their past three matches.
The U’s are currently 22nd in the Championship, one point away from safety. Their next match is against Derby County, who are 20th in the league, making the fixture of great importance.
Interestingly, Lankshear is yet to score a goal in a senior competitive appearance where his team have triumphed. His only Tottenham Hotspur goal last season was against Galatasaray in a Europa League defeat and he did not find the back of the net when Oxford defeated Bristol City.
Lankshear has the foundations in place to start scoring again
Lankshear may have hit a dry spell at Oxford, but he is still starting matches on a weekly basis. This means he will not need to wait for opportunities to rediscover his shooting boots.
Oxford’s next three fixtures are against teams in 20th, 18th and 23rd respectively and playing teams lower in the table increases Lankshear’s chances of scoring.
