Tottenham star’s agents in early talks with Inter Milan about replacing 37-year-old

An underfire Tottenham Hotspur star is open to joining Inter Milan next summer, who have shown interest in him in the past.

Guglielmo Vicario has hit the headlines for the wrong reasons after being booed by the Tottenham fans during the club’s 2-1 loss to Fulham last week.

Despite the Italian’s error, Thomas Frank has insisted that Vicario will remain his number one, but that has not stopped the speculation over his future at Spurs.

A couple of days ago, Fabrizio Romano revealed that Inter Milan are keeping tabs on the Spurs goalkeeper’s situation, and a fresh report has suggested that the player is open to a return to Italy.

Tottenham goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario wants to return to Italy

Gazzetta dello Sport point out that Inter’s number one, Yann Sommer, turns 37 in a couple of weeks and is out of contract next summer.

The Nerazzuri have been fans of Vicario for a long time and have set their sights on the Tottenham Hotspur man again as Sommer’s replacement.

The Italian sidhasve identified the 29-year-old as their ‘big target’ for next summer. Furthermore, the goalkeeper ‘wants to return’ to Italy at the end of the season.

Vicario’s representatives are in talks with Inter Milan

Gazzetta even say that the Spurs star’s agent has ‘reopened a communication channel’ with Inter regarding a switch to the San Siro.

It is revealed that Vicario is currently on a salary of £2.5m per season, which the Serie A club will have no problems matching.

The outlet adds that Inter would be willing to pay €30m (£26.3m) for the goalkeeper, but it is unclear if Tottenham would sanction his sale for that fee.
