Tottenham star’s solo effort nominated for FIFA’s Puskas Award

Son Heung-min’s brilliant solo effort against Burnley last season has been nominated for FIFA’s Puskas Award for the best goal of 2020.

The goal came in Tottenham’s 5-0 win over Burnley less than a month after Jose Mourinho had replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the helm as Spurs boss.

Son picked up the ball in Tottenham’s defensive third and drew the Burnley midfielders and defenders in before showing a tremendous turn of pace.

Not only did the South Korean go past more than half of the Clarets’ side and run the length of the field but he also maintained his composure to finish expertly past Nick Pope.

Son’s Solo effort, which was adjudged to be the Premier League’s goal of the season last campaign, has now been nominated by FIFA, along with ten other goals for the prestigious Puskas Award.

Tottenham fans can vote for the 28-year-old’s goal by clicking here.

The winner of the award will be revealed in The Best FIFA Football Awards show in Zurich on Thursday 17 December.
