Tottenham step up interest in promosing Championship star

Tottenham Hotspur are stepping up their interest in teenage right-back Max Aarons, according to a Mirror report.

Spurs are keen on signing the defender in the summer transfer window, and are currently ahead of other interested parties, including Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Lilywhites are said to have checked in regularly with Norwich over the teenage starlet, as he has played a key role in their push for promotion this season.

Most recently, Spurs are said to have approached the club about a deal for the defender, including a loan back to Norwich for the remainder of the season.

Norwich apparently want £15m for Aarons, but are well aware it will be tricky to keep him in the summer.

Tottenham and Pochettino have a good track record of buying youth and giving them a chance in the first team, so Spurs may be an attractive prospect for Aarons, as he looks to progress.
