Djurgardens sporting director Bosse Andersson reveals that Tottenham Hotspur stepped in to offer specialist medical help for Theo Bergvall, the brother of the North London club’s most recent signing, Lucas.
It has been well-documented in the Swedish press that Tottenham and Djurgardens struck up a partnership when they agreed a deal for Lucas Bergvall’s transfer to North London during the January window.
According to reports, the partnership could potentially see Spurs players being loaned out to the Scandinavian side and the Lilywhites travelling to the country for a pre-season friendly (Fotbollskanalen).
In fact, it was reported recently by Football.London’s Alasdair Gold that the Djurgardens director was Daniel Levy’s special guest for the clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday and was given the full VIP treatment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Tottenham are offering a helping hand to Djurgardens
Andersson has now explained that the Swedish side ‘were not satisfied’ with a medical report they received for Theo Bergvall, and subsequently ‘asked Tottenham for help’.
He told FotbollDirekt: “It is true that Tottenham stepped in and offered us specialist help with Theo Bergvall when we asked the question. It’s true that Tottenham opened doors very quickly to a specialist clinic when we asked the question.
“We were not really satisfied with the opinions we received (in Sweden) and therefore contacted Tottenham who quickly offered help. We called and Tottenham then made sure that we didn’t have to wait.”

This is perhaps a sign that the two clubs have already struck up a great understanding and have agreed to collaborate on a number of different areas.
I will not be surprised if we see Tottenham sending some of their Under-18 players over to Djurgardens in the near future to gain experience with a different footballing culture.
