Tottenham Hotspur now believe that they have a realistic chance of signing an attacker who has been their top target for a long time.
It was reported leading up to the transfer window that signing a winger is Tottenham’s number one priority.
That is now even more the case following Brennan Johnson’s move to Crystal Palace, which has garnered a mixed response from Spurs fans.
Several outlets have backed Spurs to reignite their interest in the £70m-rated Savinho after failing to get a deal for the Man City man over the line in the summer.
A journalist has now revealed the sentiment at N17 regarding a potential deal for the Brazilian.

Tottenham feel Savinho is a realistic target this month
Journalist Mark Brus has now revealed on CaughtOffside that with Antoine Semenyo on the verge of joining Man City, Pep Guardiola’s men are expected to sell one of Savinho or Oscar Bobb this window.
He revealed that there is some optimism at Spurs that they can secure the services of the Brazilian, whom Thomas Frank’s men have continued to watch closely over the past few months.
The journalist adds that Tottenham could try to sign Savinho on an initial loan deal, with an option or obligation to buy him in the summer.
Latest Savinho development may come as a blow to Spurs’ chances
Savinho was forced off with an injury during Man City’s 0-0 draw against Sunderland on Thursday.
Pep Guardiola admitted that the 21-year-old’s injury “doesn’t look good”, but there has been no update on the nature of the injury or his expected return date from Man City.
Meanwhile, some sources, such as David Ornstein, have insisted that Savinho will not be sold by Man City this month despite Semenyo’s impending arrival.
