Tottenham striker Harry Kane misses out on Team of the Year XI

UEFA have announced their Team of the Year for 2020 and no Tottenham Hotspur stars managed to make the final eleven.

Harry Kane and Son Heung-min have both been on fire during the past calendar year and their performances have up there with the best forwards in European football.

Hugo Lloris has also had a stellar 2020, saving the club many points and hardly putting a foot wrong since his return from injury.

The Tottenham goalkeeper was even described as among the top three in world football by Jose Mourinho recently.

However, it was only Kane who was nominated for the TOTY last month, with Son and Lloris even failing to make the preliminary list.

Even the England captain, who has admitted to being in the form of his life, failed to make the final eleven, with Robert Lewandowski leading the line ahead of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is hard to argue with the forward players who have been selected as all of them have had good years and won big trophies. However, Kane did well just to make the nomination considering he missed the first three months of 2020 with a hamstring injury.
