Tottenham struck transfer blow over potential Dembele replacement

Tottenham Hotspur may just be tempted to dip into the transfer market this January, as they now find themselves in a healthy position across the board for the rest of the season.

After City’s win over Liverpool last night, Tottenham sit just six points off the top of the league.

Spurs have also already qualified for the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup, and the knockout stages of the Champions League.

As if this wasn’t enough, Pochettino’s men take on Tranmere in the FA Cup third round tonight too.

That’s a lot of different competitions, and a lot of different games for Tottenham to negotiate this season.

This may tempt Poch and Levy into one or two new signings this month, but one man who has been ruled out is Genk’s Sander Berge.

TeamTalk reported Tottenham’s interest in his last month, as he could prove to be an ideal replacement for Mousa Dembele, but the Genk technical director has ruled out a January move.

Dimitri de Conde said (Tuttomercatoweb): “We are not willing to sell Sander Berge in January.”
