Tottenham take major step towards stadium completion

Tottenham Hotspur have finally taken a huge step towards completing their brand new 62,000 seat stadium, according to SkySports.

The new stadium was originally supposed to open on September 15 against Liverpool, but delays have pushed this back further and further.

Until the new opening date, Spurs will continue to play their home matches at Wembley, including a massive Champions League crunch match against Barcelona tomorrow night.

However, the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may not be far off now, with Pochettino claiming it would be finished in 2018 (as reported by the Telegraph).

Spurs have taken a major step towards achieving this goal as they shared photos of the new turf being laid at the ground.

The Spurs pitch is to be laid on top of three retractable trays, that when moved and stored under the South Stand, reveal a fresh pitch for NFL games.

Tottenham revealed on their website that the turf arrived today in 23 refrigerated lorries.
