Tottenham target refuses to rule out summer move

Tottenham Hotspur managed to plant one strong foot into the quarter finals of the Champions League last week, after winning their round of 16 first leg 3-0.

Spurs survived a tough first half against German League leaders Borussia Dortmund before smashing three home in the second 45.

The Londoners are now firm favourites to see the tie out and qualify for the quarters for the first time since Harry Redknapp’s reign.

However, things may go from bad to worse for Borussia Dortmund, as they may also be set to lose one of their up-and-coming stars to Tottenham too.

Julian Weigl was linked to Spurs in the summer and January (Bild), with the 23-year-old having played nearly 100 games for Dortmund in his first two seasons.

However, recent injuries have limited him to just 12 starts this campaign, and the midfield man has refused to rule out a summer move.

As a deep-lying playmaker, Weigl could prove to be a perfect Mousa Dembele replacement for Pochettino.

Weigl said (HITC): “I know what I have at the club. That’s why there was no reason to kick up a fuss or walk away, I really like the guys too much for that.

“You will see that. I can not say what’s going on in the summer.”
