Rumoured Tottenham target rules out January move

Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a very successful first half of the season under Mauricio Pochettino this year.

Spurs entered the campaign with pretty low outwards expectation around the club, as many believed the lack of signings and delayed stadium would cripple the Lilywhites.

However, Tottenham have gone from strength to strength throughout the season with their tight knit squad, and currently sit third in the League.

Only Man City and Liverpool are above Spurs, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Man United all lagging behind.

Tottenham have also qualified for both the last 16 of the Champions League, and the semi-final of the Carabao Cup in the new year.

Despite not buying any players in the summer, Pochettino may be tempted to bring in a new face or two in January, if he can trim some of the fat from his squad.

One man who will not be leaving his current club however, is Real Madrid’s Isco, who has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in the past (Express).

Marca report Isco said (as reported by Football London): “I’m very excited about the new year.

“I’m not going to go in the winter market, I’m very happy.

“Of course I want to continue with Madrid to continue winning titles.”
