Tottenham Hotspur may not have signed a single player in the last 15 months, but they did choose to sell Mousa Dembele in January.

Prior to this move, Dembele had been a mainstay in the Pochettino midfield, when the Belgian was not hampered by injuries.

Spurs have yet to replace the significant hole within their ranks, but one man they have been strongly linked to is Barcelona’s Andre Gomes (Sun).

Gomes has been on loan at Everton for the entirety of this season, but could now switch Merseyside for North London.

The Spaniard has just dropped a massive hint that he will be leaving Barcelona either way this summer, as he removed the club from his Twitter bio.

Before last night, the bio mentioned that Gomes was a Barcelona and Everton player, but just the Toffees remain today.

This could also hint that Everton will be his destination this summer, but the player has been reported to prefer a move to Tottenham (Sunday Mirror – 19/5 pg 72).

Spurs Web Opinion:

I would not be a fan of this signing. Andre Gomes, to me, looks an average player, and not one who would take Spurs to the next level. I would much rather Tottenham purchase Nmdombele for £80m than two players on Gomes’ level.
