Tottenham team news ahead of West Ham League Cup clash

Tottenham Hotspur take on West Ham United at the Olympic Stadium tonight in the Carabao Cup, just 48 hours after their defeat to Man City on Monday.

The City game marked the first of Spurs’ four matches in eight days this week.

West Ham away in the cup, Wolves away in the Premier League and PSV in the Champions League make up the following three games.

Due to this ridiculously packed fixture list, you can expect Pochettino to ring the changes across each match.

Wedged between two key Prem fixtures, you would assume that it will be a significantly weakened Tottenham side this evening against the Hammers.

Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose, Luke Amos and Vincent Janssen remain the long term absentees and will not feature in the London derby.

Eric Dier picked up a thigh strain injury against Man City on Monday and will also be unavailable for the match.

Luckily Spurs have a number of returning players to the side, including Eriksen, Alli and Dembele, so Poch’s options are strong.
