Tottenham tipped to serve a double whammy to West Ham if they get relegated

Pete O’Rourke has revealed what his sources are telling him about the speculation linking a 24-year-old Premier League star with a move to Tottenham.

Tottenham have reportedly already been planning for the summer transfer window, with Roberto De Zerbi set to reshape the squad to suit his demands ahead of his first full season in charge.

However, the Lilywhites will be aware that they still have plenty of work to do in order to secure their Premier League status over West Ham.

If they do stay up at the expense of the Hammers, the North Londoners may raid their London rivals for a second summer in a row after poaching Mohammed Kudus from the London Stadium last summer.

Tottenham are one of several clubs expected to vie for Crysencio Summerville

Spurs allegedly showed interest in Crysencio Summerville during the winter, and reports over recent weeks have indicated that Tottenham are poised to reignite their interest in the West Ham winger this summer.

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has now confirmed that the Dutchman has been a long-term target for Spurs and has backed the Lilywhites to press ahead with a move, but he expects De Zerbi’s men to face plenty of competition for the winger.

When asked about the speculation linking the former Leeds man with a switch to Tottenham, O’Rourke told Football Insider: “Yeah, I think there’d be more than just Tottenham who would be looking at Crysencio Summerville. West Ham don’t want to lose Summerville, if they go down, it’ll be a real uphill task to keep hold of him.

“Tottenham have had a long-term interest in the Dutchman, and I’m sure if they can stay up at the expense of West Ham, they’ll be hoping that they could maybe lure him away.

“There’ll be a lot of Premier League clubs who will be looking at the tricky winger hoping that he could be snapped up and capitalise on West Ham’s potential relegation. For West Ham, though, the vultures will come calling for their top players if they do suffer relegation, and Summerville will be one of those players who will be in huge demand.”

Summerville price and other interested clubs revealed

It was reported in the January window that Tottenham were prepared to pay £25m for West Ham winger, and one would imagine that such an offer could be enough to clinch a deal if Nuno Espirito Santo’s men go down.

However, it was reported by TEAMtalk last month that Aston Villa, Bournemouth, Brentford and Everton are prepared to challenge Spurs for Summerville.

The same update revealed that Marseille, Napoli, Atalanta and Villarreal are also keeping tabs on the Tottenham target ahead of the summer window.
