Tottenham to turn to the Pope for help

Tottenham Hotspur are today being linked with a move for Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope,

According to the Daily Mirror, the England international has been earmarked as a potential recruit to the Spurs ranks next summer.

The 26-year-old has been battling Joe Hart and Tom Heaton for the number one jersey at Turf Moor and is currently recovering from a dislocated shoulder suffered in a Europa League qualifier during July.

Michel Vorm, who is currently the understudy to Hugo Lloris is out of contract in the summer with many fans expecting him to depart the club upon expiry.

Paulo Gazzaniga has impressed when given the opportunity to deputise, but frustratingly still finds himself behind Vorm in the pecking order.

Pope has the added attraction of being classed as a homegrown player which would greatly appeal to Tottenham.
