Tottenham tracking Mikey Moore’s Rangers teammate as contract ticks down

Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for a midfielder in the Scottish League who might be available for a cut price this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur were credited with interest in Rangers’ Nicolas Raskin before the winter window opened.

At the time, Spurs were keen on adding another midfielder to their ranks, but they have since signed Conor Gallagher from Atletico Madrid for £35 million.

However, Raskin’s contract situation could be of interest to Tottenham at the moment, as the midfielder could be available at a cut price.

Tottenham monitoring Nicolas Raskin’s contract situation

This report comes from Football Insider, who claim that with Raskin’s contract set to expire in 2027, the midfielder could be available for less, as the summer will represent Rangers’ last chance to sell for a significant fee.

As a result, it is understood that the Scottish side is bracing itself for a host of interest from several clubs in the upcoming summer window.

Tottenham have been keeping tabs on the midfielder for some time now and could make a move for the Belgian, but they could also face even more competition in the next couple of months.

Detailing the contract concern and the likelihood of bids arriving, Pete O’Rourke explained: “Yeah, look, I am sure there will be further interest in Nicolas Raskin come the summer transfer window.

“He will just have one year left on his contract at Rangers and if there is no new deal agreed, Rangers might be forced into cashing in on Raskin.

“They will not want to risk him running down his contract and potentially leaving on a free transfer.

“Clubs will be well aware of the contract situation, thinking they might be able to get Raskin for a cheaper fee in the summer due to that contract situation.

“They will be hoping they can lure him away with a decent-sized offer in that respect.”

Yves Bissouma’s contract situation could force Spurs to make Raskin move

Spurs could be forced into a move for the Rangers man despite securing the signature of Conor Gallagher during the winter window.

That is because Yves Bissouma could well be on his way out of north London, as his contract is running out in the summer.

The Malian international has less than six months left on his current deal and, should he leave on a free, Tottenham could well make a move for Raskin.
