Tottenham transfer round-up: Morgan Gibbs-White and Antonio Rudiger boosts plus shock Archie Gray exit talk

That disappointing January transfer window is a distant memory now, and the full focus for Tottenham is on staying in the Premier League, but that doesn’t stop the rumour mill from turning.

It’s no secret that Spurs failed to strengthen their squad last month, and it could well cost them their Premier League status now if results don’t improve fast.

The fact that the Lilywhites are even in a relegation battle makes it pretty difficult to plan ahead for next season. Naturally, if the club does end up in the Championship, there will be a very different calibre of transfer targets on the shopping list.

Tottenham’s wage bill will need reassessing, of course, while a number of big players would surely leave. But, based on the latest transfer talk, it seems the club is still aiming high and eyeing up top-flight talent.

Tottenham push for playmaker transfer: Morgan Gibbs-White, Morgan Rogers and more

We know Spurs wanted to sign a creative midfielder in January. That didn’t happen, of course, but there are plenty of options out there if they want to try again in the summer.

One target is a familiar face. It’s thought both Manchester clubs are keen, but Tottenham have an advantage in the race to sign Morgan Gibbs-White, and it’s all down to their wage structure. If Spurs stay up, the club is prepared to offer more than their rivals when it comes to the midfielder’s salary.

Meanwhile, Morgan Rogers is Tottenham’s dream transfer signing, and there’s good news on that front, too. It’s thought Aston Villa may have to sell the player, but he’ll still come with a price tag of at least £80m.

Antonio Rudiger is a defensive target for Spurs

Defensive reinforcements are also high on the list for Spurs, and Antonio Rudiger could be on his way to N17. It’s thought other Premier League sides will not rival Tottenham in that pursuit.

Elsewhere, Spurs will find it ‘tough’ to land Kim Min-jae. A number of other clubs are monitoring the situation at Bayern Munich and are ready to swoop.

A much younger target is also emerging, with Spurs keen on Ruud Nijstad. He could cost up to £17m, but lots of other clubs are excited by the FC Twente talent after the 18-year-old registered some seriously impressive stats this season.

Fresh goalkeeper rumours as Guglielmo Vicario upgrade targeted

It is widely believed that Guglielmo Vicario will leave Tottenham this summer, with Juventus leading the race to sign the Italian with a £26m price tag on his head.

In terms of replacements, Tottenham are now looking at Noah Atubolu. The Freiburg goalkeeper, 23, has also caught the eye of Inter Milan.

Meanwhile, it’s thought James Trafford would prefer to join Aston Villa if and when he leaves Man City. That could push Spurs to look at Sunderland’s Robin Roefs instead.

Archie Gray could leave Spurs for Real Madrid

Now, it’s time to look at the players who might be leaving Tottenham in the near future. First up, Real Madrid are eyeing up Archie Gray, after being impressed by his ‘elite footballing brain’.

Spurs are also worried that Micky van de Ven will leave, as Manchester United enter the race to sign the Dutchman.

And finally, Tottenham may entertain bids for Luka Vuskovic, but only if clubs come in with offers of at least £61m.
