Tottenham transfer round-up: Richarlison rumours, Radu Dragusin twist and £43m winger targeted

We are now 12 days into the January transfer window and Tottenham are yet to officially make a signing, but that doesn’t stop the rumour mill spinning.

It’s no secret that Tottenham need reinforcements this month, with Thomas Frank struggling with an injury crisis and poor form among his players.

We are still waiting for the first confirmed Tottenham deal in January, but it’s thought the move for Souza is very close to being complete.

But what lies beyond that? Here are all the biggest rumours and reports from the last few days as to who might be coming in and out of N17.

Richarlison doesn’t want to leave but Mathys Tel does

It seems like we’ve been thinking about Richarlison leaving the club for years now, and those rumours have not gone away.

Interestingly, the latest reports on his situation have been rubbished by the man himself. Richarlison took to social media to deny claims he wants out of Spurs, and by the sounds of it he’s pretty passionate about proving those suggestions wrong.

However, there is one player who does want out. Apparently, Mathys Tel wants to leave on loan as he’s unhappy with how much game time he’s getting right now.

Radu Dragusin offer rejected

Meanwhile, plans for Radu Dragusin to leave the club this month have been scuppered. Dragusin’s agent hoped he would join Roma on loan, after a deal had been proposed by the Italian club including an obligation to buy.

However, Tottenham are thought to have rejected the offer for Dragusin. It’s unknown whether that is down to the financial details or if it is purely based on their desire to keep hold of the centre-half.

Speaking of potential exits, Micky van de Ven is reluctant to sign a new deal at Spurs. He’s frustrated with how things are going at the club and plans to tie him into a new contract may well hit a roadblock now.

Spurs looking at new wingers

Based on how many rumours are flying around for different players, it would seem Spurs are looking for a new winger.

One name linked is Said El Mala, who could cost £43m. Spurs are not alone in chasing the FC Koln man, though, with Man United also keen.

Elsewhere, Kenan Yildiz is also a target, while Spurs are also interested in Jarrod Bowen. They’re pretty expensive and difficult players to obtain for now, but youngster Sani Suleiman could be a good, cheap option — it’s thought he would cost just £5.2m.

Another expensive player on Tottenham’s radar is Yan Diomande at RB Leipzig. There are big obstacles in the pursuit of Diomande, though. A deal would need to be done this month to avoid a bidding war for the impressive teenager.

More defensive signings after Souza?

With Souza on his way, it’s surprising to learn that Spurs want another left-back this month. It’s thought the Lilywhites are trying to sign Borussia Monchengladbach defender Luca Netz, who will be a free agent in the summer.

Defensive additions may well be the order of the day at Spurs. Reports suggest Tottenham want to make another attempt to sign Wesley Franca, whom they liked when he was at Flamengo before he joined Roma last summer.

Spurs are also among the admirers for Michael Kayode, but the Brentford full-back is also wanted by the likes of Man City, Bayern Munich, and Inter Milan.
