Tottenham transfer target issues apology to his current fans on Instagram

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly still determined to sign either Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon or Giovani Lo Celso from Real Betis before the transfer window closes this summer (Standard).

Spurs are apparently looking for an Eriksen replacement in case the Dane leaves the club after the Premier League purchasing window shuts on August 8.

Clubs from Italy, Spain, Germany, and France can all still buy players until September 2, meaning that some of the non-Prem European giants could yet snap Eriksen up.

The Daily Star claim that Manchester United expect Bruno Fernandes to land in Manchester today ahead of a potential move, but Spurs are also interested.

The player himself was not only in action for Sporting Lisbon this weekend, but he actually captained the side as they were thrashed 5-0 by Benfica in the Portuguese Super Cup Final (Mirror).

Fernandes then took to Instagram to issue an apology to his fans, but could this heavy loss be his final match for the club.

His statement read: “This is not a time for many words, it is not a time to raise our heads.

“It is a time to bow our heads and think about the mistakes we have made and that we should never make them again.

“It is the moment to think about what made us win, cups we won last year and that the unity and fellowship we had led us to these achievements!”
