Three Tottenham stars have been named among the top fifty Premier League players ahead of the 2026–27 campaign.
Tottenham Hotspur have had several world-class players represent them in the last decade, marking one of the strongest periods in the club’s recent history.
Harry Kane, Heung‑min Son and Mousa Dembele are among the standout talents to have worn the Lilywhite shirt during that era.
And despite those stars having now departed north London, recent rankings have placed three current Tottenham players among the top fifty Premier League footballers heading into the 26–27 season.
Tottenham’s Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes and Micky van de Ven make the top 50
These rankings come from The Athletic, who have decided to put together a list of the 50 best players in the Premier League before the 26-27 season kicks off.
Making their list are several stars from different sides in the English top flight. However, Manchester City have the highest representation, with nine players. Arsenal come in second place with eight players, although five of them are in the top ten.
Tottenham, on the other hand, have three players in the top fifty, with Sandro Tonali in 39th, Mateus Fernandes in 41st and Micky van de Ven in 44th.
Ismailia Sarr stands as the only player outside the big six to make the top twenty of these rankings.
Tonali and Fernandes boost Spurs’ Premier League representation
Spurs could well have had just the one player on this list had they not secured the services of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
The pair cost Tottenham a whopping £185 million, with Tonali costing £100 million and Fernandes £85 million.
But van de Ven‘s inclusion is not entirely surprising. The Dutchman has been one of Spurs’ best players in recent seasons.
This summer, Tottenham showed just how much they value van de Ven by extending his contract following interest from the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid.
The pacy centre-back is now also being tipped to be named captain of the Lilywhites ahead of the season, highlighting just how much Spurs value him.
