Tottenham trophy winner blasts ‘incredibly disrespectful’ Spurs board to even consider sacking Ange Postecoglou

As Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media rile against reports of Ange Postecoglou’s impending sacking, Ramon Vega has now joined in to offer his support to the Australian and blast the North London club for even considering getting rid of him.

It was reported by Football Insider on Sunday that even though we have not had an official update from Tottenham, Daniel Levy has already decided to sack Ange Postecoglou.

The outlet claimed that the North London club are now pressing ahead with their pursuit of a new manager and are expected to formally announce the Australian’s departure within the next few days.

However, Postecoglou’s latest statement indicates that he expects to stay at Spurs, with the Australian expressing his desire to build on the Europa League success and go for more trophies next season.

Ramon Vega wants Ange Postecoglou to remain at Spurs

Ramon Vega has now joined in the chorus of voices on social media blasting Daniel Levy and the Tottenham hierarchy for even considering sacking Ange Postecoglou, who has delivered the club’s first piece of silverware in 17 years.

The former Spurs defender, who won the League Cup with the club back in 1999 has insisted it is “incredibly disrespectful” to Postecoglou that his future is even in doubt and insisted that sacking him would be one of the biggest mistakes the club can make.

Vega wrote on X: “I find it incredibly disrespectful to even think about sacking Ange Postecoglou. He has accomplished the impossible—something others with more significant credentials have failed to achieve.

“Letting him go would be one of the biggest mistakes the club again could make, especially considering the previous errors the club has already made with management and recruitment. Ange Postecoglou is here to stay and needs to be given the support it needs with that extra money for qualifying for the CL! Rome wasn’t built in one day.”

What the Tottenham board fear about sacking Postecoglou

Meanwhile, it has been reported by Alasdair Gold that Spurs fear that sacking Postecoglou would cause a backlash from the fans.

The journalist pointed out that the managerial replacements that Tottenham are eyeing may not be exciting enough names for Levy to sell to the club’s fan base.

All in all, it looks like the Spurs community is making their voices clear about what they want, but it remains to be seen if Levy will listen.
