Tottenham vs Inter Milan: Michael Kayode could demand £26m transfer fee this summer

Tottenham are eyeing a defender whose stock is rising rapidly in the Premier League, but they may face competition from Inter Milan.

Tottenham are not short of options at right-back, with Pedro Porro and Djed Spence in the squad, and Archie Gray also capable of playing in the position.

However, Spence has mostly been used as a left-back at Spurs for the last two years, and it remains to be seen if that changes under a new manager next season.

It has emerged over recent months that the Lilywhites are becoming increasingly impressed by a 21-year-old right-back, who has come on leaps and bounds at one of their London rivals this term.

Inter Milan could challenge Tottenham for Michael Kayode’s signature

Brentford’s Michael Kayode was mooted as a target for Tottenham in the January window, and the speculation linking the Italian with a move to N17 has not gone away since.

Now, a new report in Calciomercato.it has revealed that the 21-year-old is also wanted by Inter Milan this summer.

The Nerazzurri are said to be keen on adding a first-choice right-back to their squad, as Denzel Dumfries may be on his way out of the club, and they have set their sights on Kayode.

The outlet claims that Inter have to shell out €30m (£26.1m) to take the Brentford man to the San Siro.

Spurs may have an advantage over Inter in race for Kayode

CalcioMercato.it add that, given the finances involved, landing Kayode will ‘not be an easy deal’ for the Serie A giants to complete.

They could look to sign the Bees right-back on an initial loan deal with an option to buy him, in order to get around their challenges.

One would imagine that the Lilywhites would have no problems paying the fee for Kayode, given that Tottenham are expected to spend big this summer to rebuild their squad if they avoid relegation.
